But, the median price for a one-bedroom apartment in Pittsburgh is still well below the city average, which is around $1.3 million.
And while some people prefer to live closer to the city center, others prefer to move into the more affordable Pittsburgh suburbs or the suburbs in the west of the city.
In fact, the average price for new apartments in the Pittsburgh metro region is just over $1 million.
So how do you find a good one?
According to Reis, there are a lot of different factors that go into finding the perfect apartment in the City of Brotherly Love.
“The key thing is, if you’re looking to rent an apartment, you want a property that’s affordable and in the right area,” said Julie Wollman, senior vice president of real estate at Reis Inc.
In addition to affordability, you need to be in the area where people live, Wollmans said.
You also need to have a home that’s near work, she said.
“That’s the first thing we look at when looking at apartments.”
So where to look?
There are a number of cities and suburbs that are considered good places to live in Pittsburgh, and that’s where you can find apartments, Wissman said.
Here are some of the main options in the metro area:Pittsburgh has a number one ranking in median household incomes in the country, according with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which also ranks the state and the U.S. overall.
The area has the highest percentage of people who are white, according census data.
A white household in Pittsburgh makes about $44,000, according data from the Census Bureau.
That’s an average of $11,500 per household, according ToonData.com.
And the area has a lot more minorities than most other cities, according Reis’ data.
Black and Hispanic residents make up 13.3% of the area’s population.
They make up 18.9% of those living in poverty, according Census Bureau data.
In addition, the census data also shows that the city has the fourth-highest number of households with children under 18.
The area has about one in five children under the age of 18 living in homes, according government data.
The median price of an apartment in Philadelphia is about $1,600 a month.
The average rent in Pittsburgh (according to Rees) is $1 the median for the same area.
The city also has a strong middle class, which may make renting in the suburbs more affordable, Witzel said.
In the west, the suburbs are much less expensive, and people are able to commute into Pittsburgh and the surrounding area, Wolls said.
Pittsburgh is one small city, so there are other areas with great local attractions, such as the Lake Erie and Lake Erie Canal area.
But if you want to make a major move into Pittsburgh, Wicks said it’s best to consider other areas.
The Pittsburgh region is one that is growing, so it’s a good time to move in, Wills said.
“Pittsburgh offers the kind of amenities that people want, and it has the right mix of jobs, and so it can be a great place to invest in,” Wollmann said.
